参加をご希望される皆様へ

教室は、25㎡ほどの部屋で、定員は３名で、２名から開催します。

ぜひ、お友達をお誘いの上、ご参加ください。

 

同じテーブルに座って織り作業をします。お互いに近い距離で時々すれ違ったり、私が近距離で指導することもあると思われます、ご了承ください。

パンデミック前までは、お茶の時間にお茶菓子や飲み物をご用意していたのですが、再開できるまでご自分のスナックやお飲み物をご用意くださいますようお願いいたします。

What you can expect in the classroom

The classroom size is about 270 square feet, you (min. 2 ppl max 3ppl), so please bring your friends!) will sit together around one table to weave.

Please note that you get physically closer to other participants sometimes and I would stand close to you to teach you weaving.

Before the pandemic, I offered refreshments and some sweets and hopefully resuming that soon.

So until then, please bring your own snacks and drinks.

あらかじめたて糸のかかっている手織り機で、３０x６０の布を織りタペストリーやテーブルセンター、または２枚に切ってティーマットに仕上げます。お好みでお家でバッグに仕上げることもできる大きさの布です。

テクニックは織の基礎になる「平織」で、無地を始め、ストライプ、ボーダーやカラーブロックなどなど、初心者の方に扱いやすいコットンの糸をご用意しています。追加料金で（＋５）２色の大柄チェック柄にすることもできます。（３枚目写真参照）

Beginner Weaving Workshop

 

No previous weaving experience needed for this workshop, this is perfect for absolute beginners and if you have been curious about weaving on a loom or if have woven something small and want to try something bigger.

 

What you make You will weave a 12” x 24” fabric on a table loom.

Takes about 5h

 

Your handwoven fabric can be used as a table center or tapestry or cut in half to make two small placement mats. Or you can take it home and sew a small bag, etc.Technique you use is the most basic “Plain Weave” and you can enjoy creating solid, stripes, boarders and much more!

You can make 2 color sock patten with additional $5. (please see 3rd picture). The materials are cotton yarn in different thickness which are easy to handle for beginners.

 

Class Fee $8５ includes warp, weft and you can use a loom. Paid in full in cash or personal check before class starts, Thank you!

無地の平織りよりは少し高度です。必須ではありませんがテーブルセンターワークショップをまずお勧めします.

 

 

内容   手織り機で約３0x60㎝の布を色糸効果織という技法を平織で織り,巾着袋に仕上げます。一            番よく知られている色糸効果織は”千鳥格子“、これは2色の糸を一定のリズムで並べ、織ることによって生まれる模様です。

 

クラスの前にまず写真の中から（白、黄緑、黄、赤、グレー、茶、紺）２色の糸を選んでいただき、こちらで３種類の違うパターンのたて糸を手織り機にかけておきます。それを当日一枚の布に織りそのあと巾着袋に仕上げます。横糸の入れ方によって模様が変わるので、模様のサンプルを見ながらいろいろ試して織ってみてください。色は２色のうち一色を白にすると出来上がりの模様がよりくっきりと織りだされます。（コントラストカラー）

私の方で袋に仕上げる場合、追加料金＄１０がかかります。

Weaving Workshop　Drawstring bag with “Color and Weave”

 

“Table Center” workshop is recommended before taking this class ,as this is more advanced,  but not requirement.

 

What you make

You will weave approximately 12” x 24” fabric on a table loom in color and weave technique and then machine saw it into a drawstring bag.

When you weave 2 or more colors in a certain order in warp and weft, you can create distinguished patterns like hound tooth, log cabin and much more and that is called color and weave. Fun fact about this is that it looks complicated and advanced but weaving is still very beginner friendly.

 

Before the class, you choose 2 different colors and I will set up 3 different patterns of warp on the loom. During the class, you weave the fabric while you try and experiment different patterns. After that, you machine sew it into a bag if you like (you are can choose non sewing finish, too).

I can sew it for you with additional $10.

 

For colors, I recommend choosing white for one of two in order to have the max effect for this technique. (contrast color)

テクニックは織りの一番基礎になる「平織」で、無地やストライプ、ボーダー、カラーブロックを始めとしたパターンを織り込み、最後にフリンジを作ります。

 

たて糸は白または黒1色をです。オプションで、プラス＄１０で色を加えたり、織の経験がある方に限り、色糸効果織のセッティングができます。いずれの場合も事前に必ずご相談ください。

 

 費用　たて糸無地設定＄１1０（現金かパーソナルチェックでお願いします）たて糸、                   織機や備品使用代が含まれます。

 

横糸　お好みのものをご持参ください。１００gから２００g。

プラス＄１０で、縦糸と同じメリノをご希望の方は白か黒でお選びいただけます。その他、少量の

アクセントカラーもご用意できます。

What you make Extra Fine Merino Scarf 12” x 70” (includes fringes)

 

You will weave on an already warped table loom with high quality extra fine merino and finishes with fringes. If you have previous weaving experiences, that is very helpful. If this is your very first weaving, it would take a bit longer, but I am here to assist you to make a beautiful scarf. This is a great advantage of a small group lesson! Technique is the most basic “Plain Weave” and you can enjoy creating solid, stripes, boarders and much more on solid color warp (black or white)

 

 

Option: You can make check patterns or add some colors on warp with extra $10, please let me know in advance other than solid color warp. 

Please bring your own weft (4oz - 8oz)to weave with.

You can also choose the same yarn as warp (black and white, accent color available)with additional $10.

 

Class Fee $110 for one color warp setting (extra fine merino, very soft almost like cashmere).  Paid in full in cash or personal check before class starts、Thank you! There are Cashmere and other materials available at extra cost. (pay for what you use)

手織りの経験は全く必要のないクラフト感覚で楽しめるビギナークラスです。卓上織り機より時間はかかりますが、手織りの仕組みが理解でき、小物が作れるクラスです。

 

内容    作れるもの　25㎠以内の布が織れます。一番適しているのはコースター、ポットマット、タペストリーなど。またはキーチェーンや犬の首輪のような「ひも」も織れます。

 

他のクラスと違い、ご自分でたて糸をかけるところから始めます。テクニックは織りの一番基礎になる「平織」で、無地やストライプ、ボーダー、交差織などを横糸で変化をつけます。

 

少人数クラスなので、デザインから仕上げまで落ち着いて手織りをお楽しみいただけます。教室はレドモンドの森の中、お友達やご家族と遠足気分でぜひおいでください！

Coaster, Tapestry, Keychain, Bracelet etc

 

No previous weaving experience needed for this workshop, this is perfect for absolute beginners!

 

 

 

What you make Fabric size up to 10” on width suitable for coasters, pot mat, trivets and wall hanging. You can also weave a string for a keychain, bracelet, collar for your dog etc.

 

You will put a warp on a frame loom according to your project. You can make stripes, solid or clasped weft to make some patterns.

 

The class size is small so that you will have plenty of time to weave while relaxing. The class is held in nature rich setting in Redmond, children around 10y and older are welcome to participate, too.

 

Duration about 2h

 

Class Fee $3５ includes warp, weft as well as metal part if keychain  is your choice

リジッドへドルルームを持っているけれど糸のかけ方が分からない、自分に合う手織り機を決めかねている、また実際に一度使ってみたい、という方のためのワークショップ。たて糸の選び方、糸の計算、プランニング、トラブルシューティングなどもお教えします。実技では、コースターサイズの小さな布を織りあげます。ご自分のルームをお持ちの方はご持参ください。お持ちでない方は教室の機を無料貸し出しいたします。

 

＊リジッドへドルルームとは？ビギナー用の織り機と呼ばれています。へドルと呼ばれる「ソウコウ」と「オサ」が一つになっている部分に（中央部白い部分）たて糸を通して織り機をセットするのでセットアップの時間が短縮できるモデルです。またこれで横糸を打ち込んで布を織っていきます。
